Mission Tint - Terms and Conditions

Mission Tint

Terms And Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all services and products provided by Mission Tint. By scheduling or receiving services, you agree to abide by these policies. They are designed to ensure clarity, professionalism, and protection for both our customers and our business.

01 Estimates and Specifications

  • All estimates are based on the accuracy of specifications provided by the customer, including year, make, model, body style, and trim.
  • If additional modifications, services, or costs are required after vehicle intake, Mission Tint will notify the customer immediately for approval before proceeding.
  • Verbal orders will be accepted; however, all details must be in writing. Mission Tint is not responsible for errors resulting from verbal instructions.
  • Quotes are provided in good faith and valid for 30 days. Prices are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances or updated information.
  • Online and promotional pricing applies only to the specific vehicle and service quoted and is not transferable between vehicles or customers.
  • Any advertised list price or strike-through price reflects our own standard non-promotional price for the same service on the same vehicle class.

Why specifications matter

Film patterns are cut from a database indexed by year, make, model, and body style. A convertible, a coupe, and a sedan of the same model are different vehicles to us. If the vehicle presented at intake does not match the vehicle quoted, both the price and the timeline change.

02 Cancellations, Deposits and Refunds

  • Appointment deposits are required to secure scheduling and resources.
  • Deposits are non-refundable, and cancellation results in forfeiture of the deposit. Bay time reserved for your vehicle cannot be resold at short notice.
  • Custom-ordered films or materials require 100% prepayment and are non-refundable once ordered.
  • Because window film, paint protection film, and coating installations are custom to your vehicle, sales are final, except under our 100% Money-Back Guarantee in section 12, which governs where it applies.

03 Vehicle Intake Policy

You represent that you are the owner of the vehicle, or that you are authorized by the owner to approve the work. Leased and financed vehicles may be subject to terms imposed by the lienholder or lessor. Confirming that the work is permitted under your lease or finance agreement is your responsibility, not ours.

  • Upon arrival, every vehicle is photographed and inspected to document its condition before any work begins.
  • Pre-existing damage (scratches, cracks, chips, interior wear, and similar) will be noted and cannot be attributed to Mission Tint.
  • Mission Tint is not responsible for the progression of pre-existing damage, or for how film installations interact with such conditions.
  • We are not responsible for latent defects that only become apparent during or after service, where those defects were present before the vehicle arrived.
  • You must disclose known prior paint work, prior film, aftermarket glass, aftermarket electronics, or accident history. This materially affects how film and coatings behave.
  • This process ensures transparency and protects both the client and our team.

04 Condition of Vehicle and Glass

  • Vehicles must arrive clean and free from grease, dirt, debris, pet hair, or existing window film.
  • A cleaning or removal fee of $50 per side window and $100 per windshield applies where additional preparation is required.
  • Mission Tint is not responsible for pre-existing damage to glass or vehicle surfaces. Scratches, chips, and other imperfections may remain visible and may affect film performance or adhesion.
  • We are not liable for broken windows where the damage existed prior to installation.

05 Florida Window Tint Law

Window tint on vehicles operated on Florida public roads is regulated by sections 316.2951 through 316.2957 of the Florida Statutes. Mission Tint installs to the legal limits and measures the finished result on your glass.

Florida legal limits, ss. 316.2952 to 316.2955, Florida Statutes
Window Minimum VLT Max reflectance
Windshield Transparent, non-reflective strip above the AS-1 line only Non-reflective
Front side windows 28%, all vehicle types 25%
Rear side and rear windows, passenger cars 15% 35%
Rear side and rear windows, multipurpose vehicles 6% 35%

We cannot install illegal tint. This is not a preference.

Under s. 316.2956(3), Florida Statutes, any person who sells or installs sunscreening material in violation of ss. 316.2951 to 316.2955 is guilty of a second-degree misdemeanor. That exposure is ours, not yours, and no customer waiver, request, or signature transfers it. We will decline any request to install film below the legal limits, and we will not make an exception.

  • VLT is measured on glass, not on the box. The legal limit applies to your factory glass and the film together. Factory glass is often already tinted, so a film rated at 35% can measure well below 35% once installed. We quote and measure the finished result.
  • All percentage measurements are subject to a tolerance of plus or minus 3%, per s. 316.2955(2).
  • As required by s. 316.2955(1), we affix a compliance label to the inside left door jamb stating the film trade name and our business name. Do not remove this label. It is your evidence of a legal installation.
  • Medical exemption. Florida issues medical exemption certificates under s. 316.29545 via FLHSMV Form HSMV 83390. If you hold a valid certificate, present it before installation and we will install only what that certificate permits. It is specific to a person and a vehicle, is not transferable, and must be kept in the vehicle.
  • Other states. Tint that is legal in Florida may be illegal elsewhere, and Florida's rear window limits are more permissive than most states. If you regularly drive out of state, tell us before we install. We make no representation about the law of any other jurisdiction.
  • Enforcement decisions are outside our control. We are responsible for installing to the legal limit. We are not responsible for a citation issued on a compliant installation, and we will provide our measurements to support you.

06 Paint Condition and Surface Preparation

Paint protection film and ceramic coating are applied to your existing finish. They follow the surface underneath. They do not repair it, and they lock in whatever is there on the day.

  • Coatings and film magnify what is underneath. Swirls, scratches, water spots, orange peel, and sanding marks remain visible, and a coating can make them more visible rather than less. Paint correction is a separate service, quoted separately.
  • Repainted, resprayed, and aftermarket panels are at your risk. Aftermarket paint of unknown age, cure state, and quality does not bond, flex, or release like factory paint. Film may fail to adhere, may lift, and on removal may take the paint with it. Where a panel has been refinished, we may decline to work on it, or may proceed only with your written acknowledgment that paint damage on that panel is not our responsibility.
  • Failing clear coat. We will not apply film or coating over clear coat that is peeling, checking, or delaminating. If it is discovered after work begins, we stop and contact you.
  • Preparation may include clay bar, chemical decontamination, and machine polishing where quoted. It cannot remove defects below the level of the clear coat.

07 Installation Standards

  • Window film is designed to adhere to glass only. Mission Tint does not guarantee adhesion on non-glass surfaces such as plastic or rubber.
  • Acceptability of an installation is assessed from a distance of six (6) feet, in natural daylight, after the 30 to 60 day curing period. Minor imperfections are normal and do not affect performance.
  • Customers acknowledge that no installation is 100% free of particles or micro-contaminants.

Six feet, daylight, after curing

This is the industry standard and it is a fair one. Film is judged the way it is seen: from outside the car, in daylight, once it has finished curing. It is not judged with your nose against the glass on day one, when the adhesive is still working.

08 Removal of Existing Products

  • Removal of old tint, PPF, vinyl, wraps, or coatings carries inherent risks due to age, condition, and the quality of the prior installation, none of which we control.
  • By authorizing removal, the customer acknowledges these risks and releases Mission Tint from liability for damage to glass, paint, or surfaces occurring during the removal process.
  • Rear defroster lines. Old, baked-on, or low-quality film can bond to defroster grid lines, and removal can lift or break those lines even when performed correctly. This risk is inherent to the removal, not to how it is done.
  • The same applies to antenna elements embedded in glass and to third-party accessories adhered to glass.
  • If you want the defroster tested first, ask before we begin. We will test it with you present and note the result at intake.
  • Removal is quoted separately from installation and may be billed by time where the condition of the existing product cannot be assessed in advance.

09 What Film and Coatings Can and Cannot Do

Normal characteristics, not defects

  • Dot matrix. The black ceramic dots around the edge of glass are raised and porous. Film cannot fully adhere to them, and a lighter halo or silvering at that border is normal on most vehicles.
  • Edge gaps. Film is cut slightly inside the glass edge so it can be installed without lifting. A small, even perimeter gap is correct.
  • Seams. Large rear windows may require a seam where the glass is wider than the film. Where one is necessary, we tell you before we begin.
  • Relief lines and stretch marks on PPF. Compound curves require relief. Faint lines at those points are inherent to the material.
  • Slight texture. Installed film is not glass. A light orange peel texture on PPF is a property of the film.

What these products are not

  • Ceramic coating is not scratch-proof, chip-proof, or dent-proof. It is a chemically resistant, hydrophobic sacrificial layer. It resists etching, staining, and contamination. It will not stop a rock, a shopping cart, or automatic car wash brushes.
  • Ceramic coating does not eliminate washing. It makes washing easier and safer. Neglect will shorten its life.
  • Paint protection film is not impact-proof. It absorbs and disperses impact energy. Sufficient force will still mark paint through film.
  • Self-healing has limits. Light swirls close with heat. Deep cuts through the film do not.
  • Window film is not shatterproof or security glass unless a security film is specifically quoted and installed.
  • Heat rejection varies by film, glass area, and vehicle. Manufacturer performance figures are measured under controlled test conditions and are not a promise about how your cabin will feel on a given day.

Driver assistance systems and windshield film

Many vehicles have cameras, rain sensors, lane keeping systems, or heads-up display elements at or through the windshield. Film applied to a windshield may affect their operation, and some manufacturers require recalibration after any work at the glass. Recalibration is not included in our services and must be performed by a qualified facility. You are responsible for verifying the correct operation of all driver assistance systems before returning the vehicle to normal use.

10 Curing and Aftercare

Nearly every problem we see after a job is a curing problem. Adhesive needs time, and Florida humidity does not help. Following these is a condition of warranty coverage.

Window tint

  • Do not roll your windows down for 3 to 5 days. This is the single most common cause of a ruined installation, and film peeled by an early window drop is not a warranty claim.
  • Some haziness or bubbling is normal during the curing process, which runs 30 to 60 days.
  • Clean only with tint-safe products. Ammonia destroys film. Use a soft microfiber cloth.

Paint protection film

  • Do not wash the vehicle for 7 days. Do not pressure wash edges for 30 days.
  • Moisture pockets and light haze under fresh film are normal and generally disappear as the film cures.
  • Keep pressure washers at a distance and never aim directly at an edge or seam.

Ceramic coating

  • Do not wash the vehicle for 7 days, and keep it dry for the first 24 hours where possible.
  • Avoid automatic car washes. Brushes scratch a coated surface exactly as they scratch an uncoated one.
  • Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and the two-bucket method. Remove bird droppings, bug splatter, and tree sap promptly; they etch.
  • Where your coating carries a durability warranty, scheduled inspections or maintenance may be a condition of it. We will tell you if that applies.

11 Warranty

Manufacturer warranty

Warranties on the film and coating itself are provided by the manufacturer. Mission Tint is not the manufacturer and does not alter manufacturer warranty coverage. We register your warranty and provide the documentation. Claims under it are ultimately determined by the manufacturer.

Our workmanship

Mission Tint stands by the quality of our installation and will assist with warranty claims. If a failure is caused by how we installed the product, we correct it, and we do not argue about it.

What no warranty covers

  • Damage caused by accident, collision, abuse, misuse, vandalism, or negligence.
  • Damage from improper washing, automatic car washes, abrasive polishes, ammonia-based cleaners, or pressure washing at edges.
  • Failure to observe the curing periods in section 10.
  • Failure of the underlying paint, clear coat, or glass, including refinished or aftermarket panels.
  • Damage caused by anyone other than Mission Tint working on or around the treated surface.
  • Normal wear consistent with the age and use of the product.
  • Rock chips, road debris impact, or environmental fallout on surfaces not covered by film.

Making a claim

  • Contact us in writing with your name, the vehicle, the date of service, and photographs. Give us the opportunity to inspect the vehicle in person before any third party touches it.
  • Your exclusive remedy under our workmanship warranty is repair or replacement of the affected material, at our option. It does not extend to consequential loss, loss of use, rental vehicles, lost income, or diminished value.

Except as expressly stated in a written warranty provided to you, any implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the term of that written warranty. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary by jurisdiction.

12 100% Money-Back Guarantee

If we fall short, you get your money back

At Mission Tint we stand behind the quality of our work and the products we use. Your satisfaction is our top priority, which is why we offer a 100% Money-Back Guarantee on our services.

If you are genuinely dissatisfied with your results and believe the outcome does not meet professional standards, we will do everything we can to make it right first. If we cannot resolve it to your satisfaction, we will remove the product and refund the service.

  • Window tinting, automotive, residential, or commercial: we will safely remove the installed film and provide a full refund of the amount paid for the tint service.
  • Paint protection film: we will professionally remove the PPF and issue a full refund for the installation service.
  • Ceramic coatings: we will remove the coating from the affected areas and provide a full refund for the coating service.

How the guarantee works

  • Refunds are issued only after the product has been removed by Mission Tint.
  • The guarantee applies solely to workmanship or service dissatisfaction. It does not apply to post-installation damage, neglect, or misuse.
  • Claims must be made in writing within 10 days after the end of the 30 to 60 day curing period described in section 07, which is the point at which an installation can properly be judged.
  • The guarantee covers the service amount paid. It does not extend to consequential loss, loss of use, or diminished value.

Our goal is simple: deliver flawless results and a service experience that exceeds expectations. If for any reason we fall short, you get your money back.

13 Turnaround, Delays and Storage

  • Completion dates are estimates made in good faith. Weather, humidity, material supply, pattern availability for new models, and conditions discovered at intake all affect them.
  • We are not liable for losses arising from delay, including loss of use, rental costs, or missed appointments.
  • Vehicles not picked up after notification will incur a daily storage fee, at a rate disclosed at the time of service.
  • Mission Tint is not responsible for maintenance issues, malfunctions, or repairs unrelated to our installation while the vehicle is in our possession.
  • Vehicles left for an extended period without contact may be subject to a lien and to sale in accordance with Florida law, including chapter 713, Florida Statutes. We would much rather call you.

14 Payment Policy

  • Full payment is required prior to vehicle release.
  • Custom-ordered films or materials require 100% prepayment and are non-refundable.
  • Accepted forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and cash. Checks are accepted only if pre-approved in writing and paid via certified funds.
  • Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee plus the outstanding balance.
  • Late balances accrue interest at 18% per annum, plus any applicable attorney fees or collection costs.
  • Customers, or their authorized agents, who sign the Work Order are responsible for all charges.
  • Mission Tint retains a possessory lien over the vehicle for unpaid charges, as permitted by Florida law.
  • Prices exclude applicable sales tax unless stated.

15 Personal Property and Keys

  • Remove valuables before your appointment. Mission Tint is not responsible for cash, electronics, firearms, documents, sunglasses, or other personal property left in the vehicle.
  • Interior work requires access to door panels and glass. Items on seats, in door pockets, and on rear decks must be removed. We will move what we must, but we would rather not handle your belongings at all.
  • Keys are held securely during service. A vehicle cannot be left with us without a key or a means of access.
  • Vehicles are not driven except as necessary to move them within our facility.

16 Photography, Media and CARFAX

We photograph and film work in progress and completed vehicles, and we publish that work on our website and social channels.

  • By authorizing service you grant Mission Tint a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual right to photograph and film your vehicle and to use those images for marketing, in any medium, without further approval or compensation.
  • We do not publish license plates, VINs, or your personal information.
  • If you do not want your vehicle published, tell us in writing before service and we will honor it. No explanation needed, and it costs you nothing.
  • CARFAX. We report qualifying services to CARFAX so the work is recorded against the vehicle history, which is generally to your benefit on resale. This means the service, date, and vehicle identification are shared with CARFAX. If you do not want a service reported, tell us in writing before service.

17 Communications and Messaging

  • By providing your phone number you consent to receive calls and text messages from Mission Tint regarding your quote, booking, vehicle status, and service, including messages sent by automated systems.
  • Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of purchase.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of text messages, or HELP for help. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about a booking you have made.
  • We may record or retain messages and call notes as a record of what was agreed.
  • Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

18 Disputes and Complaints

  • All complaints must be submitted in writing. Mission Tint will make every effort to resolve issues through inspection, correction, or reinstallation before escalation.
  • Please inspect the work before you leave. Obvious cosmetic issues are far easier to correct while your vehicle is still with us, and we would rather fix it now than schedule you back. Settling the bill and leaving confirms that you have had the opportunity to inspect the work. It does not waive your rights under our warranty in section 11 or our guarantee in section 12, both of which are judged after curing.
  • Disputes regarding invoices must be submitted in writing within 10 days of the invoice date.
  • Chargebacks or cancelled checks for work that was performed and accepted are a breach of this agreement. Customers will be liable for associated legal fees, court costs, and damages, and we will contest them with our intake documentation, photographs, and your authorization.

19 Limitation of Liability

Mission Tint is not responsible for:

  • Fire, theft, accidents, acts of God, or other causes beyond our reasonable control.
  • Consequential damages or loss of any kind.
  • Maintenance issues, malfunctions, or repairs unrelated to our installation.
  • Pre-existing conditions, as set out in sections 03 and 04.
  • Risks inherent to removal of existing products, as set out in section 08.

Interior work requires the careful removal and refitting of trim and panels. Clips, fasteners, and adhesives on older or previously disturbed interiors can be brittle and can fail on removal even when the work is done correctly. Where we identify this risk we will tell you before we begin. This does not excuse careless work, and if we damage your vehicle through our own negligence, we will make it right.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mission Tint's total liability arising out of or relating to any service, product, or these terms shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you to Mission Tint for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Mission Tint shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of use, loss of income, rental or substitute transportation costs, or diminution in value, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, personal injury or death caused by our negligence, or any liability which cannot lawfully be limited, including rights you may have under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

20 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mission Tint, its owners, and its employees from claims, damages, and costs, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising from: information you provided that was inaccurate; work you authorized on a vehicle you did not own or were not authorized to commit; your breach of a lease, finance, or insurance agreement; or your use of the vehicle in violation of the law of any jurisdiction after it leaves our facility.

What this does not do

This clause does not shift our own legal obligations onto you. If we install something we should not have installed, that remains our problem, and section 05 says so plainly.

21 Right to Refuse Service

Mission Tint may decline or stop any job at our discretion, including where the requested work would be unlawful, where the vehicle's condition makes a good result impossible, where paint or glass condition creates unacceptable risk, where the vehicle is unsafe or unsanitary to work on, or where a customer is abusive to our staff. If we stop a job for these reasons, you pay only for work already performed.

22 Governing Law and Disputes

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.
  • Venue for any dispute lies in the state or federal courts located in Lee County, Florida, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
  • Talk to us first. Most problems are solved by a phone call and a look at the vehicle. Please contact us before initiating any formal action, so we have a real chance to make it right.
  • If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in full force, and the unenforceable provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary.

23 Entire Agreement

This document, together with your signed Work Order, estimate, and invoice, represents the complete agreement between Mission Tint and the customer, superseding all prior discussions or agreements. Mission Tint reserves the right to update or correct these terms at any time. The version in force for your job is the version published on the date you authorized the work, and the effective date is shown at the top of this page. We keep prior versions and will provide the one that applied to your service on request.

24 Acknowledgment

By signing or submitting payment, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all Terms and Conditions set forth by Mission Tint.

Questions about any of this? Ask before you book, not after. We would rather spend ten minutes on the phone now than have you read section 19 later.
